Daily Inspection Checklist

A daily inspection should cover: engine oil, coolant and hydraulic fluid levels; visible leaks; tyre condition and pressure; wheel nuts; boom and chassis structural cracks or damage; fork or attachment condition and locking pins; lights, mirrors and warning devices; seat belt and operator presence system; and a function test of all controls, stabilisers and frame level. Record defects and do not operate if safety-critical items are faulty. A consistent pre-use check is one of the most effective.

A consistent pre-use check is one of the most effective ways to prevent incidents and unplanned downtime.

Always consult the specific manufacturer operator manual and load charts for the model in use. Local regulations regarding personnel lifting, operator training and machine inspection must also be followed. Proper selection, correct use of the load chart, and disciplined daily checks form the foundation of safe and productive telehandler operation.
