An open cab provides maximum visibility, easy entry and exit, and lower machine cost. An enclosed cab adds windows, doors, HVAC, and often higher levels of filtration and sound insulation. Most modern production machines default to enclosed cabs; open cabs remain common on smaller or lower-cost models and in mild climates.
