Skid Steer versus Compact Track Loader
The fundamental difference between a skid steer and a compact track loader (CTL) is the undercarriage. A skid steer rides on four wheels and steers by skidding the wheels on one side; a CTL rides on continuous rubber tracks. Ground pressure for a typical skid steer is in the range of 25–40 psi, while a comparable CTL operates at approximately 3.5–6 psi—roughly one-third to one-fifth the pressure. This difference determines performance on soft, wet or finished surfaces. On firm, flat surfaces su.

Safe Loading, Trailer Transport, and Pallet Fork Handling Guide
Skid steers move from one job to another frequently, which makes loading and transport a normal part of ownership. However, normal does not mean risk-free. Trailer loading places the machine on ramps, changes the operator’s visibility, and introduces the possibility of ramp movement, trailer shift, or machine imbalance. Once the skid steer is on the trailer, securement becomes the next safety responsibility. A mistake during loading or transport can damage equipment and create serious road haza.

Standard Flow versus High Flow
Standard-flow auxiliary hydraulics on compact loaders and skid steers typically deliver 12–25 GPM (45–95 L/min). This flow is adequate for many attachments such as buckets, grapples, augers and simple brooms. High-flow systems deliver 30–40+ GPM (110–150+ L/min) and are required for high-demand tools including cold planers, mulchers, large brush cutters and high-capacity snow blowers. Matching attachment demand to available flow and pressure is essential; under-flowing a high-demand tool produc.
